Lochmere Country Club — Cary, NC

The course at Lochmere Country Club is loved by golfers of all abilities in the Raleigh area. You’ll need to bring your best game to the table as the tree-lined fairways and bunkered greens favor those with accurate tee-offs. Plus, Swift Creek adds in plenty of water traps to avoid as you make your way around the links.

Lochmere also offers a well-stocked Pro Shop full of knowledgeable golf experts to lend you a hand and upgrade your equipment. And of course, the Greenside Restaurant and 19th Hole Pub are available for food and drinks after an afternoon of golfing.

MacGregor Downs Country Club — Cary, NC

Consistently rated as one of the best golf courses in the Southeastern United States, MacGregor Downs Country Club is a must-visit spot for any avid golfer. Designed by Willard Byrd, it’s well-known for having great playing conditions, challenging design, and beautiful scenery.

The course hosted the Liggett & Myers PGA Tour Match Play Championships in the 1970s and is the current host of the Stitch Intercollegiate. Golf greats like Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, and Arnold Palmer have enjoyed playing here, so you know you’ll be in good company when you visit!

Prestonwood Country Club — Cary, NC

Prestonwood Country Club has a lot to offer! Here, you’ll find 54 holes of championship golf, a large fitness center, an aquatic center, 15 tennis courts, and a Kids Club. The grounds also host many social and dining events throughout the year, making it a true staple in the community.

Golfers can choose between three different 18-hole courses, all of which have been featured in the Top 100 Courses in North Carolina. The Meadows and Highlands courses feature bermudagrass greens while the Fairways course features bentgrass greens.

North Ridge Country Club — Raleigh, NC

The courses at North Ridge Country Club as renowned for their beautiful scenery, challenging design, and outstanding service. The Lakes Course is known for having a more modern design while the Oaks course has more old-school charm. No Matter which course you choose, you’ll enjoy a fun outing on the links.

Hasentree Country Club — Wake Forest, NC

Looking for a unique layout set on some seriously stunning scenery? You’ll find it at Haseentree. Designed by Tom Fazio, the 7,074-year, 71-par course is a fun challenge for golfers of all levels. And if you’re looking to get outside without your clubs, the grounds are home to nature trails and walkways overlooking the beautiful lake.

And you’ll keep coming back to Hasentree for more than just golf. This country club offers tennis courts, a pool, a fitness center, and spa. Members can sign up for leagues or lessons to help them develop their skills, too!

The Country Club at Wakefield Estates — Raleigh, NC

The Country Club at Wakefield Estates boasts two beautiful gold courses. The 18-hole, par 71, 7,257 yard championship golf course is a local favorite for its challenging fairways and beautiful scenery. The 9-Hole Plantation Course is specially designed for children and beginners looking to hone their skills.

Governors Club — Chapel Hill, NC

As a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, Governors Club is nationally recognized for its award-winning 27 holes. It’s the Triangle’s only gated golf community and has been ranked among the top 5% of all country clubs worldwide!

Golfers of all levels will love playing on this 1,600-acre property. It features varied terrain, natural beauty, and artful design. Each of the three nine-hole courses offer their own challenges and experience, so you’ll have plenty to master!

Twin Lakes Golf Course — Chapel Hill, NC

Bring your A-game to this par-35, nine-hole golf course. Designed by J.K. Wilkins, the course features 3,002 yards of golf and beautifully maintained Bermuda grass. This challenging course has been well-loved by locals since 1961.

The well-stocked Pro Shop offers all of your golfing essentials, from cart and club rentals to excellent gear for sale and a bounty of snacks and cold beverages. It’s truly a great place to gather your golfing buddies and head out for an afternoon of golf!

The Preserve at Jorden Lake — Chapel Hill, NC
